Chatel sits at the top of a valley from Lake Geneva and is c.35 - 45 mins to drive to Evian on the lakeside. It is a 60-80 mins drive from Geneva and 25 mins drive to the Swiss autroroute at Monthey which goes to Geneva and central Switzerland or south to Italy and Chamonix.

Winter

The village sits at the centre of the largest linked ski area in the world which has an altitude of 1000m - 2500m, 225 lifts, 600 kms. of piste with a variety of blacks, reds and blues and off piste areas. Chatel has the best ski runs as it has North facing slopes which keep the snow longer than southern slopes on the other side of Avoriaz. Chatel's village also has excellent apres ski atmosphere.

Spring & summer

There is a new swimming pool, tennis courts, paragliding and trekking on one of the many mountain trails. In Evian which is a 35-45 mins drive to the shore of Lake Geneva there is an international golf course, many fine restaurants, indoor and outdoor tennis clubs, a theatre and spa.
